Is it possible to only rent snowboarding boots at Northstar Ski Resort?

I just need the boots because I am going to borrow a snowboard and bindings from a friend. Can I just rent the boots only? I cant find it on their website and in the past, i used to do the one day ski trip (go really early in the morning and come back at night) and they take care of the rentals…

I only need my church shoes to skiing….

What was the first ski resort to allow snowboarding?

I am doing a paper for english class, and I need to know. Please include a link for proof.

Suicide Six was the first to allow snowboarding in 1982 I believe, they are based in Vermont, No link for you, but If you search around im sure you can find something.

Mad River Glen, Deer Valley and Alta Still don’t allow snowboarding. Taos was apart of the list until March 2008 when they finally opened their doors to snowboarders.

Ski/Snowboarding Resort?

I’m turning 17 the end of January and I live in Colorado, I was wanting to go to a resort with two of my friends and my mom. How much does it cost to do that? And do your recommend any places. I don’t have any idea how much it is or if I’ll be abe to. But I know one of my friends and I want to snow board my mom wants to ski and i dont know what my other friend wants to do yet. It would be probably Go On Thursday stay until Sunday. For 4 people ages, 16, 17, 19, and my mom. Any ideas? I livee on the North part of Colorado So ski resorts somewhat close to that, but anywhere around denver is fine.

There are plenty of major ski areas about 60 miles west of Denver along the I-70 coridoor. You could go to Winter Park, Breckenridge, Keystone or Copper Mtn. The above mentioned areas are all nice and not extremely expensive (compared to Aspen or Vail).

The pricing will be (give or take):
at least $150 per night to rent a condo or hotel
Lift Tickets are about $75 per person, per day
ski/snowboard rentals will be about $30 per day
lessons will be about $60
Keep in mind food is usually overpriced at ski areas, so you may want to buy groceries in advance to save money.

Just google the resort name (ie "Copper Mountain ski") and you will find the websites to book lodging.

Have fun.

What are some of the better ski resorts in Wisconsin. We are staying in Janesville and are going snowboarding

We are going on Friday the 15th

I would suggest Devils Head if you are staying in Janesville… If your willing to drive a few more hours for probably the best skiing in Wisconsin/Michigan, I would highly suggest Granite Peak (with 74 runs, 700 ft vertical drop)…And if your looking for something close, just go to Alpine Valley which is "okay" skiing, but close non the less…

Can anyone recommend a ski resort for Snowboarding in May/ June in California? Also San fran/vegas road trip?

I am going on a road trip in May/ June from San Fran – Lake Tahoe – Mammoth Mountain – Las Vegas – San Diego – Los Angeles.

On the way we would like to go snowboarding – can anyone recommend a resort that will be open during this time? Also if anyone has done a road trip simular any advise would be greatly received.
Thanks
Lynda

There’s no resort that’ll be definitively open at that time. It’s going to depend on how much snow they still have left. You’ll have to check with the resorts when the time comes.

You can follow the Tahoe area ski resort Snow Conditions here:

What is the nightlife like in the French snowboarding (ski) resort of Les Arcs 2000?

Just looking for general information really – is it lively / are there clubs / or will I be in bed by 11?!? Went to Andorra (Pas de la Casa) last year – boarding and nightlift were both fantastic and made it a brilliant holiday. Any pointers gratefully received!

There isn’t all that much in the way of life in Arc 2000 to be honest, but there are a couple of reasonable(ish) bars. Fantastic access to the slopes though, and you might be able to wangle a lift down to 1800 for a night out if you chat to your rep/some of the seasonaires nicely… :-)

Hi,

I found this site,
Chalet Chardons is a cheap hotel in Tignes for skiing and snowboarding. The hotel is situated 100 metres from the piste in the beautiful and historic village of Tignes Les Brevieres in the French Alps and gives direct access to the world famous Espace Killy ski and snowboard area. Run by a group of skiing and snowboarding friends who became bored with washing dishes to finance their winter seasons, we make our ski and snowboard hotel in Tignes a fun, informal place to stay for groups, budget minded travellers, students and backpackers who prefer to ski, snowboard, enjoy good company, home cooking, friendly staff and perhaps a few late night parties over pretentious chalets and overpriced ski hotels. We specialize in keeping our ski and snowboard hotel prices cheap so you can participate in all the skiing and snowboarding you want during the day and use more of your money to have fun with at night.

I am looking to find a good snowboard/ski resort in the Rockies and the western coast of the US?

My husband wants the powder terrain and he is the skier and I want to snowboard with our daughter who is 8. Please help with a good family ski resort that is friendly and not overly priced like Heavenly in Lake Tahoe (we have been there).
I have been looking at Utah, Colorado, California, Oregon, and parts or Arizona.

Colorado is probably more expensive, but more than likely has what you’re looking for. Did a quick search, and found the following:

Inn at Lost Creek

Hotel Telluride

lots of trails, etc.

Liftside Executive Suites at the Village

ski-in/ski-out

Silvertree Hotel
Snowmass Village

snowboard lessons, etc.

Vintage Resort
Winter Park

skiing, snowboard, even a tubing hill!!

Hope that helps!

When do the ski and snowboarding lifts open in California (Boreal, Sugar Bowl)?

I can’t wait for the lifts to open. I love snowboarding so I’d like to know when Boreal Ski and Snowboard Resort open and Sugar Bowl Ski Resort open.

I cant wait either!!!

They will open when they get some natural snow and its cold enough to make and keep snow around…i am guessing end of November for both resorts (its a wild guess though)
